Another deadly sin: cupidity

I don't know if you heard this story a couple of weeks ago, but heirs of librettist Hugo von Hofmannsthal are suing the estate of composer Richard Strauss in hopes of stealing a great deal of money from dead people (yes, I call that stealing from the dead). The story, reported by the Associated Press, can be read here or here (in French). My advice to those cupid heirs? Get a job.

YouTube extracts: Elisabeth Schwarzkopf, Der Rosenkavalier, Karajan conducting (1962), "Da geht er hin" ; Jessye Norman, Ariadne auf Naxos, James Levine conducting, "Es gibt ein Reich" ; Karita Mattila & Barbara Bonney, Arabella, Christoph von Dohnányi conducting (2002), "Aber der Richtige".
